Bounded by the evocative Malvern Hills to the west and the Cotswold ridge to the east, and extending to the very outskirts of the bustling metropolis of Birmingham in the north, Worcestershire has something for everyone. Whatever the degree of care needed, the county can offer a nursing home suitable for you.
Dotted with pretty market towns, modern new towns and with historic Worcester at its heart, the county boasts every possible environment from suburban to classically rural. The county is cut in two by the River Severn, the longest river in Britain, and the Severn valley shapes many of the views and much of the landscape. If you currently live in the area it makes sense to find a residential or nursing home in such a lovely location.
The county boasts no less than two spa towns, Droitwich and Malvern, with Droitwich having facilities to help the elderly and infirm. Of course Malvern, with its hills that have inspired many an artist and musician, is a firm favourite for retirement and there are a number of residential and nursing homes offering a range of care options in the town. Some say that the waters from the hills have their own special qualities. Some towns in the county have a more industrial past; Kidderminster for example is still world renowned for its carpet making.
South East Worcestershire holds its own special attractions with the market towns of Pershore and Evesham in the latter’s eponymous vale. The county nudges up against the Cotswold ridge and includes one of the most picturesque villages in England, Broadway. The River Severn also has a strong influence in the county with many towns flanking its waters from Bewdley in the North to Upton-on-Severn in the South. Historic Worcester itself sits astride the river as it passes by the great Cathedral on one side and the Worcestershire County Cricket Ground on the other. Like most cities, Worcester hosts nursing and care homes of differing sizes and character.
